Conformation
Dog shows, or "conformation" events, are the signature events of certain groups and clubs. They concentrate on the distinctive features of purebred dogs and help to preserve these characteristics by providing a forum at which to evaluate breeding stock.
Exhibits are judged against individual breed standards, which have been established for the breeds by their parent clubs. These written standards describe the ideal size, color, and temperament of each breed, as well as correct proportion, structure, and movement.
Coonhound Events
Bench shows, field trials, nite hunts and water races are competitive events that provide owners with the opportunity to demonstrate the beauty and natural abilities of purebred Coonhounds. At the same time, deserving dogs achieve AKC recognition by acquiring championship titles on three different levels in each activity. These activities also benefit clubs by increasing memberships and providing an atmosphere of comradeship and sportsmanship.
If you have any links that may be helpful in training your dog(s) for any of these events or are interested in a link exchange?? PLEASE E-mail the links to Puppies & Doggies World so that I may put them up. For those of you interested in a link exchange, Puppies & Doggies World has a variety of link options to choose from. Thank you!!!

If a strange dog approaches you on the street, stand still, don't look it in the eye and don't run away.
